Project Overview

The product:

Design a responsive website and mobile app for local

a nursery that enables customers to do online shopping,

purchase, delivery, and pickup options due to the Pandemic.

Project duration:

2 months, 09-2021 to 11-2021

The problem:

New Covid-19 shopping rules slow process and shopping experience. 1. New (in-store) appointment shopping and curbside pickup scheduling. 2. Unorganized poorly executed website with no updated inventory tracking system or, 3. Online customer shopping.

The goal and solution:

• Build mobile app experience with product inventory and user shopping experience streamlined with new company COVID-19 rules.

• Improve user experience and online company presence with interactive design prototypes.

My role:

Lead UX Designer, UX Researcher

Responsibilities:

User Research, Prototyping, UI / UX Design

Pain Points:

  1. Fast shipping and delivery options for personal and community projects

  2. Online resources from veteran- expert gardeners or landscapers

  3. Scheduling of curbside pickup

  4. Adding items to favorites / Wish list for later purchase

  5. Easy Booking for online / Phone consultations

Insights:

The usability Study included 5 participants, unmoderated, 25-30 minutes, 6 prompts, and 10 question

feedback. Insights from the Usability Study included customers’ needs and frustrations using the mobile app, and task

prompts with ease of navigation. Customers pain points included scheduling and booking options

for delivery during the purchase process as well as initial appointments for in-store shopping due to

Pandemic regulations.
