about me

Hi, i'm daria

I'm a multidisciplinary creative currently rooted in Austin, Texas—where the tacos are 🌶️ spicy, and so is my imagination. I design with intention, write with wit, and fully believe that bold ideas deserve beautiful 🎯execution.

creative roots.

After graduating from Duke Ellington School of the Arts with a focus on Classical Vocal Music, I spent 20 years immersed in family, community, and career. Wearing hats as a graphic designer, proposal coordinator, and storyteller-working across the nation's capital and Northern Virginia.  I sang at the Kennedy Center, danced at The Dance Place, shared my poetry at open mics at Bus Boys and Poets, and rolled up my sleeves as a community gardener and volunteer art director-artist performer in DC public and charter schools.

Now, as an empty nester and recent college graduate, I'm leaning fully into my dream: completing my MFA in Creative Writing and publishing my first YA novel, while creating spaces that elevate art, story, and soul.

human-centered, future-forward.

Design has always been my native language. I’ve spent over two decades creating visuals and coordinating high-level proposals across the D.C. metro area—blending story, strategy, and style into everything from branding decks to federal bids. As a self-taught designer, I’ve put in hundreds of hours learning, experimenting, and building my craft from the ground up. These days, I’m expanding that foundation with UX/UI design, Figma workflows, and digital strategy that connects—not just clicks, but people. I design for brands, creatives, and community projects, always starting with intention and ending with impact.

journals, joy, and marketing strategies.

Writing has always been a part of my life. I started with late-night journaling and poetry, then expanded into content for clients, self-help journals, and now fiction. I'm currently earning my MFA in Creative Writing and hold a Professional Writing Certificate from Southern New Hampshire University. These days, I’m focused on stories that heal, uplift, and connect—like the YA novel I’m finally bringing to life. Words are how I make meaning, and how I hope to make an impact.

tech-powered, soul-led.

For me, creativity is always evolving—and these days, that includes working with AI. I don’t use it to replace the creative process, but to stretch it. From generating visuals and moodboards to sparking ideas and staying on top of trends, AI has become a tool I reach for with curiosity and intention. I love exploring platforms like Midjourney, and I use AI to speed up workflows, experiment with style, and bring new energy into my work. It’s all about using smart tools to create with heart.

Unmasking Identity in Deceptive Calm: A Provocative Review of Patricia Skipper’s Controversial Novel

A raw, reflective look at a historical novel that tackles race in America, womanhood, and Black Identity with uncomfortable truths and bold storytelling.

Opening Impressions

Deceptive Calm, written by Patricia Skipper, weaves a narrative around a racially ambiguous young heroine, Vanessa, who is plagued by her secret Black identity. Deceptive Calm is anything but tranquil for those who shudder at profanity, racial slurs, and bland erotica — be warned. Skipper offers a plot of twists and turns that ultimately make this novel a page-turner, but it takes work.  Read on Medium

DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGY BRAND NARRATIVES

Analyzing the Digital Footprint of Tiffany & Co.’s high-end jewelry brand.

It’s difficult to negatively 🧐 critique the brand’s digital marketing strategy.

Tiffany’s iconic brand has weathered over 186 years of customer loyalty from its conception in 1837 as “Tiffany, Young and Ellis” in lower Manhattan. Garnering a record “23% jump in 2022 at $86.09 billion sales” (Meirovich, 2023) from the newly acquired 2019 LVMH brand (Wikipedia, 2019). Read on Medium
